Joining as a Junior (Ages 10–15)

As the club has grown, so has the range of abilities, confidence levels, and engagement within our junior sessions. Boxing is a technical and repetitive sport, and for safety, development, and progression, it’s important that every child starts with the same foundations and mindset.

Because of this, we no longer take juniors straight into regular classes following enquiries or single trial sessions.

FREE 4-Week Junior Boxing Starter Course.

All new juniors begin their journey with us through our Junior Boxing Starter Course.

  • Saturdays 10:15am – 11:30am

  •  4 consecutive weeks

  • Boxing stance & movement

  • Basic punches

What we are looking for:

  • Willingness to listen

  • Ability to engage

  • Respect for coaches and others

  • A genuine desire to learn boxing

What Happens After the Course?

At the end of the 4 weeks, our coaching team will assess each child and decide if your child is:

  •  Ready to move into junior club sessions

  • Would benefit from repeating the starter course

This ensures all juniors entering the club are safe, engaged, and ready to progress.

Please note â€‹the starter course is free

  • Club membership is not free and is only offered once a child is accepted into regular junior sessions

Why We Do It This Way

Stroud Boxing Club is an England Boxing-affiliated club. Our long-term aim is to develop confident, disciplined young boxers, with the opportunity to compete if they choose – similar to a traditional grassroots sports pathway.

This structure helps us:

  • Support children who genuinely want to progress

  • Keep sessions safe and focused

  • Reduce behaviour management

  • Protect the experience of committed juniors

We would rather welcome fewer children who truly want to be here than large numbers where learning and development suffer.

Still Unsure?

If you have questions about:

  • Senior classes

  • The junior starter course

  • Whether boxing is right for you or your child

  • Any of our other classes

Get in touch with us below – we’re always happy to help.

We look forward to welcoming you to the club.
